The Missouri Symphony seeks a full-time Director of Marketing & Development to head our ongoing marketing and fundraising needs. Reporting to the Executive Director, this professional must have an established background in coordinating nonprofit donation strategies, external communications, and fundraising events and campaigns.
This role involves organizing large-scale fundraising initiatives, working with board members, managing our annual member fund, and building relationships with donors, staff, media contacts, and volunteers. The Director of Marketing & Development will also assist our Executive Director with implementing major giving and planned giving fundraising strategies.
This role also involves daily management of the organization’s marketing plan, including social media postings, emails, newsletters, website management, etc. Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of fund development and/or communications experience, preferably in the arts, education, and nonprofit fields. The Director of Marketing & Development should also be familiar with Adobe, MailChimp, Hootsuite, CRM nonprofit software, donor databases and other fundraising and marketing technology that will used in their daily job duties. Experience in grant writing, donor cultivation, and public relations is highly regarded.
This is a full-time position. Salary based on experience, $38,000 - $40,000. Benefits include flexible schedule, option for some remote work, health and dental insurance, retirement plan, and complimentary tickets to all Missouri Symphony events.
